GenSmarts Version History
The purpose of this page is to make you aware of the latest updates to GenSmarts.
These updates are for our paid/registered customers only unless otherwise specified - if you have not purchased GenSmarts, the software below will not work for you. If you haven't purchased yet, use the "Download Trial" button on the left to obtain the current trial version.

Unless you're considerably out of date or have some configuration problems,
GenSmarts itself should be checking/notifying you of recommended updates each time you
run it. If that's not the case, or if you're having any sort of problem getting updated, use our failsafe update utility below. By default, GenSmarts itself will not alert you to minor or optional updates. If you'd also like to be alerted to these also, turn on GenSmarts TOOLS...SETTINGS...Internet tab... "all updates".
You'll find a change log a bit further down on this page, if you want to see a
detailed description of what has changed. If you're unfamiliar with GenSmarts concept of versions and editions
click here for help understanding out what version and edition you currently have. There's no charge to download and apply updates, and there's no name/key or other proof of puchase needed, though you obviously GenSmarts must already be installed.

A new call number report for preparing for a trip to a library, and a right clicking on a TO DO list item will now pull up a menu allowing you to SmartLink to the library's card catalog or simply copy the call number if you'd rather navigate yourself. Both are "preview" features, in that they only work for suggestions containing reference to the Allen County Public library.

- Improved country parsing a bit, which should help with some "false positive" suggestions. Example... a place name of "Somewhere out east per Mildred" will no longer get resolved as PERU (PER is the abbreviation for PERU). Often times this would show up as strange immigration suggestions.

- When GenSmarts is running in the tray (if you've done a CTRL-E from TMG and don't have the GenSmarts interface open), it wasn't closing itself when Windows was shut down or restarted.... you had to manually right click and close it for Windows shutdown to continue.
Here's what's new: Version 1.0.7.06 to 1.0.7.10
- Fix for error#2 when doing a CTRL-E from TMG to access GenSmarts. Also, error#1, which is a timeout trying to start GenSmarts from TMG, will now give you the option to wait a bit more, rather than simply error out with a #1 error.
